Tips on how to redecorate your bathroom and make it someplace really special!

While those of us who have neutral fixtures and tile have the most liberties in decorating, don’t let strong colored or patterned tile on the floor or walls discourage you.   Even darkly colored porcelain fixtures can be updated simply by adding fresh accessories and shower curtain.  Just look for a pattern that has a hint of the dark porcelain color or tile color, just enough to make it match but not to overwhelm.   All of sudden you may even start to like your dark burgundy porcelain fixtures, if you accessorize properly!   Take it modern if you want.  Again have fun in here!    

One of most important points is to think outside the box.  Do something unexpected.   If you have a very traditional home, use a brilliantly colored whimsical shower curtain such as our gold fish pattern.   Accessorize with a new rug and towels and soon you will have a great look that will thrill your guests!

The one exception to this rule is if it is the master bathroom and captive to the bedroom.  In  this case you probably want to keep within your master retreat theme.  We have many themed bath patterns that would be perfect for any master area. 

The best thing about redecorating your bathroom is it is a confined space.  Use that to your advantage.  This is the one room that doesn’t have to flow with the rest of the house.    You certainly can make it flow but I suggest taking some risks and having fun.   You can easily change the entire look with a new shower curtain, shower curtain rod, bath accessories and towels plus rugs.
